Selling a Home Without Building Permits | Matt Donnelly Real Estate

Most states require disclosures if a seller is selling a home that was remodeled without permits.

But the buyer disclosures might be the least of a seller's worries. It is also possible that the buyer's lender might require a permit in order to make the buyer a loan. Or, the buyer's lender might use only the comparable sales of other homes that recently sold and whose owners did not obtain permits for remodeling work. What happens if there aren't any comparable sales like that? Big trouble, that's what.
