Kobe Bryant has a message for his fans: Do as I say, not as I do.
After the Lakers were manhandled by the Miami Heat on Sunday, the All-Star guard took to Twitter Sunday not to vent about the team?s woes, but to chastise a fan who tweeted ?You?re gay? at another fan.
The public scolding is odd for a number of reasons ? the Lakers are 24-28 heading into Tuesday?s game against the Suns, so one would think Bryant has other things to worry about ? not the least of which is Bryant?s own history with homophobic slurs.

Bryant was fined $100,000 by the NBA last spring when, after being whistled for a technical foul in a nationally-televised game against the San Antonio Spurs, he called the referee a ?f------ f-----.? He apologized for using the language a day later, a choice of words that NBA commissioner David Stern called ?offensive and inexcuseable.?
In calling out the two fans ? who apparently have deactivated their Twitter accounts ? for all of his nearly 1.3 million followers to see, Bryant wrote, ?Just letting you know ... that using ?your gay? as a way to put someone down ain?t ok! #notcool delete that out ur vocab.?
His followers pointed out the hypocrisy of Bryant admonishing the fans, reminding him of his own conduct last April, to which Bryant responded, ?exactly! That wasn?t cool and was ignorant on my part. I own it and learn from it and expect the same from others.?
